1. Do I need to be gay to visit ME1?
ME1 is a male-only* venue and welcomes men of all orientations. Most of our guests identify as gay or bi, but all men are welcome to enjoy the facilities. *with the exception of the 'Bi Night' Event.
2. Do I need to book in advance?
Nope! Just turn up during opening hours. Tickets are available on the door. For special events (like Furry Friday), we recommend arriving early to avoid queues.
3. What should I bring with me?
Just yourself and some ID (If you look under 25). We’ll provide you with towels, lockers, and access to all facilities.
4. Is the sauna safe and discreet?
Absolutely. Your privacy is important to us. Staff are trained to create a safe, respectful space and lockers are provided. Our NHS sexual health screenings once a month also help keep our community safe.
5. Do I have to be naked?
Not unless you want to! Most guys wear a towel around the venue, except during specific Strictly Naked events.
6. Do you serve food or alcohol?
We don’t serve alcohol (for safety reasons), but we do offer soft drinks, snacks, and refreshments at reception.
7. Can I leave and come back later?
Yes, Monday–Thursday your day pass allows re-entry. At weekends, re-entry isn’t available.
8. Do you offer student or concession rates?
Yes, we offer student discount with valid student ID. Check our latest pricing.
9. Do I need to be a member?
No membership needed — everyone is welcome. Just pay your entry fee on the day and enjoy.
10. What kind of facilities do you have?
Three floors of fun: a bubbling hot tub, a scented steam room, a traditional split-level sauna cabin, chill-out areas, and private spaces to explore. Visit our facilities page to explore more.
11. Is ME1 clean?
Absolutely. Hygiene is top priority — our hot tub uses UV-filtered water, the steam and sauna are deep-cleaned daily, and staff are always on hand to keep things spotless.
12. Do I have to interact with other guys?
Not at all. Some men come just to relax in the spa facilities. Others come to socialise. It’s always your choice — no pressure, ever.
13. What if I’m nervous, or it’s my first time?
That’s normal! Lots of guys come to a sauna for the first time. Our staff are welcoming and discreet, and you’re free to explore at your own pace.
14. What happens if I don’t like it once I’m inside?
No worries — you can leave whenever you like. There’s no obligation to stay for the full session.
15. Is there an age restriction?
Yes — you must be 18 or over to enter ME1. ID may be requested at reception.
16. Can I bring my own lube or condoms?
Yes, and we also provide free condoms and lube around the venue to keep things safe and fun.
17. What should I expect on event nights?
Event nights tend to be busier and themed (like Furry Friday or Strictly Naked). Expect a lively crowd and a great atmosphere.
18. Do you allow drugs or poppers?
No illegal substances are permitted on the premises. Poppers may be used, but please do so responsibly.
19. Is photography allowed?
No — to protect everyone’s privacy, phones and cameras are not allowed in play areas. Keep your phone in your locker.
20. Do people really “hook up” here?
It’s very common for guys to connect at ME1. Whether you’re after conversation, cuddles, or more — you’ll find like-minded men.
